Check-in time is 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. We do not have a front desk; please make every effort to arrive on time. Your check-in time is important to us, as we schedule our time accordingly. Staff wear many hats here, some handling the evening care of the wolves on site. Late arrivals that have not been prearranged will result in a late fee of $50 per hour.
Check out time is 11 a.m. If you are signed up for a wolf tour that starts at 10 a.m. you will need to vacate the room prior to your tour unless you have prearranged something with your innkeeper. Check with your innkeeper for details.
A deposit of 50% of your stay will be charged to your credit card at the time your reservation is made. Deposits can only be be made by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover or debit cards. Your balance will be charged to your credit card on file two days prior to your arrival. If you would like to use a different form of payment for the balance due, please email your innkeeper as soon as you know.
When a guest makes a reservation for a stay at Speedwell Forge B&B we agree to turn away all other requests for the room you select and you agree to pay the rate quoted for the number of days you reserve it. A small bed and breakfast such as ours is significantly affected by cancellations and we appreciate your consideration of our policies.
We adhere to a strict cancellation policy.
Cancellations made prior to the 10 day arrival deadline will be refunded their deposit less a $35 non refundable cancellation fee. Cancellations made within 10 days or your arrival date will lose their deposit. Cancellations made two days or less will be charged the full amount of the reservation unless we are able to re-rent the room. This includes “No-shows” and premature check-outs.
Vacation Insurance is available from several providers online to inexpensively protect you against unexpected events. We will make every effort to re-sell the room so that you may receive a refund. Note: Longer cancellation periods will be applied to multi-room bookings. Please call for information. Cancellations must be made directly by calling and speaking to an innkeeper or by e-mail with a confirmed response.

Breakfast, Food Allergies, Restrictions and Other
Please be sure to alert your innkeeper if you have any dietary restrictions, are vegan or vegetarian, or have other special requirements such as celiac disease, gluten-intolerance, gluten-free diets, hate green things, don’t eat eggs. A good example would be on medication that precludes grapefruit. We are happy to do it all!
Smoking is not permitted inside any of the buildings. A cleaning fee of $500 will be assessed for any violations.
Children and Young Adults
No children, no toddlers, no babies or infants. No exceptions. All guests of the bed and breakfast must be 18 years of age or older whether they are traveling alone or accompanying family members.
Young adults 18 years of age and older are welcome.
Sorry, we cannot accommodate pets. There are several kennels in the area that may be able to accommodate your pet. Please check local listings.
This is our home and we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. We are not responsible for accidents or injury, damages to personal property or vehicles, or for the loss of money or valuables of any kind.
Room Damage/Missing Items/Excessive Cleaning
If rooms are damaged or left extremely dirty during a stay, guests will be charged the amount it costs to replace damaged item + 50/hr. labor fees to return room to its original state. This includes missing/damaged remotes, bedding, towels, windows, window screens, appliances, fixtures, furniture, doors, lights, mirrors, etc.
We are a small family-run business and have created a space to be enjoyed and respected. As we will do our best to serve you please return the courtesy.
Items left behind at the inn can be sent to you via mail at your request. The cost of shipping + a $5 handling and packaging fee (rounded to the next whole dollar) will be billed to your credit card. After 3 months, any unclaimed items will be donated to our local Good Will.
All rates based on double occupancy. Maximum occupancy in all rooms is 2, no exceptions. $30 fee for returned checks.
We are not handicap-accessible. All rooms require stairs except the Paymaster’s Office, which has one step.
