Dawn’s to-do list

Just for grins, here’s Dawn’s current to-do list:

  • Gut the Summer Kitchen
  • Clean out basement, dig out mud, and pour a concrete floor
  • Install cellar doors on mansion, Paymaster’s Office
  • Clean off vines, remove bushes
  • Trim Sycamore trees
  • Remove rust from basement grills
  • Scrape adhesive from kitchen floor
  • Take down wallpaper from 6 rooms + hallway
  • Remove all loose paint, plaster
  • Clean up entire farm (she has already filled two twenty-yard dumpsters with metal)
  • Periodic site cleanup
  • Scrape paint off stairs; stain and seal
  • Strip paint off 42 windows and 24 shutters (with a blowtorch!)
  • Repair, sand, prime, and paint all 42 windows and 24 shutters
  • Prime all exterior trim
  • Buy all fixtures, from faucets to mattresses
  • Demo back porch on mansion
  • Remove boiler and oil tanks from basement
  • Remove linoleum under carpets in Summer Kitchen
  • Demo all ceilings in Summer Kitchen
  • Remove trash, organize barn
  • Clean out trash in Tractor Shed
  • Clean out basement of Paymaster’s Office
  • Remove couch and all other trash from Paymaster’s
  • Clean out dirt and debris from Privy
  • Re-roof privy
  • Remove all items inside workshop
  • Dig out mud on the first level, pour cement floor if needed
  • Repair floor joists/floor in second story of workshop
  • Re-roof workshop
  • Fix drainage around workshop
  • Rebuild outside stairs on Aquarius (greenhouse)
  • Install drapes on ceiling of Aquarius
  • Rebuild Mom’s green house
  • Build basement steps in Tenant house
  • Build a rail fence around the back yard

This is, of course, in addition to managing the restoration, overseeing the septic installation, taking care of all permit issues, keeping the books, and dealing with the daily problems of the farm.

I, on the other hand, just have to get a loan to finance all of the above. Dawn definitely got the easy end of the deal this time.

Addendum: By the end of August, Dawn had completed almost all of this! So we gave her more.
