The Speedwell Forge Bed and Breakfast features beautiful grounds in an area full of stunning scenery. There is no shortage of open country farms, lakes, streams or wetlands in the Amish country here in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
However we encourage our guests to walk the 30+ acres available to our guests, plus the 20 acres of wetlands. The wetlands are a goldmine for wildlife lovers, especially for bird enthusiasts. Just across the road is the Speedwell Forge County nature park, featuring beautiful walking paths in the center of some of Pennsylvania’s most scenic countryside. Just a very short drive, we encourage guests to visit Middle Creek, another scenic and peaceful place to visit during your stay.

This has been a wonderful experience. What a great get away for our 23rd wedding anniversary!
Speedwell Forge is an elegant reminder of days past. Our stay in the Paymaster’s Suite was relaxing and romantic.
Spending time with the wolves was such a humbling and exciting opportunity. Every person we met who is dedicated to protecting these magnificent animals has been very friendly and eager to share the wolves’ stories. It has made our time here richer.
Delicious food! Thank you, Dawn, for opening your home to us.
We look forward to our return trip,
Nancy and John

Me and my fiancé stayed for our first time together in the Paymaster and loved it very much. I have stayed here at the B&B tow other times and they both were just as enjoyable and the best experience I have ever had. As usual the breakfasts, wolves and atmosphere were amazing. I cant wait to come back again.

This was a much needed get away for my boyfriend from his work. It was a surprise for him and he had no clue where we were going. The suite is wonderful, more than I could have wished for. The fireplace is grand. The tub wonderful. We loved the wolves and enjoyed walking the ground. We will be back again

While we travel frequently, this was our first stay at a B&B. We carefully selected this one after checking many out online. We were not disappointed.
The Paymaster’s Office was both cozy and romantic. We enjoyed making our own cheese and then chocolate fondue in the kitchenette on Friday and received massages in our room, followed by a delicious filet mignon dinner prepared/served by Bill Schuler on Saturday. Both added a nice touch to our weekend!
Dawn’s breakfast was yummy both mornings! Thanks for the hospitality and a wonderful romantic weekend!

This was our 9th anniversary get away and ended up being far more than we had ever anticipated.
Your cooking is fantastic!! And your wolves (wolf sanctuary) were absolutely amazing. They are such an intriguing animal.
Thank you for everything. We had a wonderful (not even a good enough word to describe) stay.

This was a great surprise for my husband’s 73rd birthday. He has always been a fan of wolves and was so impressed to see the wolves protected and able to live out their lives with such dedicated caretakers. Thank you Dawn, for your welcome and care with your guests.
