Wow! The wonder of wolves! We came to celebrate our first anniversary and cannot believe this amazing treasure we have found. We were immediately fascinated by the intelligence of the wolves on our tour. But having the opportunity to return to spend time with them even more was beyond what we could ask for. We went running with the L-Boys up and down the hill and had the chance to really look into their eyes.
The Paymaster’s Cottage really feels like a home away from home and without all of the stressors too! Dawn has really outdone herself with making sure you have all the comforts of home. It has been an amazing time and we cannot wait to return for another visit! Off for another walk with the wolves! Thank you!

Dawn, as we said before, “Thank you for breakfast and thank you for all of this!” Speedwell Forge goes way beyond being a bed and breakfast! It is an experience; meaningful historic restorations, beautiful family heritage, lovely tranquil respite, a guest haven in a new friend’s home. We hope to return.

P.S. ….and inspiring work with the wolves, whose “song” is so fascinating and enjoyable.

We had a fantastic time here! We knew as soon as we walked in that we’d love our stay here. We celebrated my 28th birthday here. It was so nice to sleep in and escape all the noise living in Philadelphia. The room is just incredible.
As for the wolves, I have always had an interest in them so to be able to see them up close will be something I will never forget. Walking the property allowed us to see the wolves in their natural setting without being there for the tour. What a great time….
We will definitely be back. Everything was terrific and we loved the wolves (especially Rogue and Chipper) – and Winston, Jasper, Liberty, Smokey’s pack, the 3 pups, the Timbers and Sky! So pretty much all that paid attention to us!

This was our second stay in the Paymaster’s Office and it seems to only get better and better! Everything was AMAZING….especially the wolves! Our only request is that we can’t stay longer. We’ll be back for full moon tours in the fall (maybe sooner) and to book our next stay in the new cottage!!
Dawn and Darin-
Thank you for being wonderfully passionate and caring people who do great things to make our world a better place for people and animals! Never stop making this fantastic dream a reality!

Back at Speedwell for the fifth time (our second say in this wonderful room) and we certainly are made to feel like family. Spent yesterday “stimulating the local economy” at the outlets topped off with a stop at Lancaster Brewing Company for “victuals and libations.” Highly recommended. Try the Hop Hog IPA or the Billy Bock. Today we continued the local economy rescue by visiting the shops at Brickerville and downtown Lititz. Had an early dinner with new friends Ed and Christine (whom we met over breakfast) and then attended the full moon tour. As always the wolves were fantastic. Once again, we have thoroughly enjoyed our time here at Speedwell Forge and the surrounding area. And again, I am certain we will return.

This has been a wonderful experience. What a great get away for our 23rd wedding anniversary!
Speedwell Forge is an elegant reminder of days past. Our stay in the Paymaster’s Suite was relaxing and romantic.
Spending time with the wolves was such a humbling and exciting opportunity. Every person we met who is dedicated to protecting these magnificent animals has been very friendly and eager to share the wolves’ stories. It has made our time here richer.
Delicious food! Thank you, Dawn, for opening your home to us.
We look forward to our return trip,
